M-33 Apollo

Based on the same chassis as all other NATO mobile air defences, the M-33 Apollo mounts 4 water-cooled 20mm cannon to provide short ranged protection against aircraft forced down to low altitude by M-35 Leto SAM system. Standard Air-defence platoons contain 1 M-33, 1 M-34, 1 M-35 and 1 M-36 command and control vehicle, to provide comprehensive protection against battlefield threats.

Note - Although the M-33, M-34 and M-35 are all equiped with surveilance radars, standard operational doctrine dictates that they are left in standby, and targets are detected by the radar on the M-36 Zeus, to minimise the threat from anti-radiation missiles. However, should the M-36 be disabled, they can still perform air defence functions.
